Guru

A guru is the current leader of a cult. It is very often the founder of it.

A guru is often regarded as a strong figure, with charisma and empathy.

In most cases, the guru of a cult is supported by the followers of that cult. Some gurus are accused of leeching on their community of followers. What is interesting to note is that this accusation is formulated more often towards religious gurus than towards corporate or cultural ones. Though the latter usually make much more profit from their follower base.
